Tanamera Bertungku
Bertungku is a traditional Malay compress technique used to compliment any form of massage especially Malay traditional massage. Bertungku is done with the use of heated river stone or iron cast equipment as the compress.
Bertungku is commonly done during postnatal treatments but generally bertungku can be practiced on clients of all ages and sex.
[How can this be good for me?]
Bertungku can be done on all parts of the body, front and back, especially around the uterus, abdomen and thigh. Various types of leaves are used to wrap the Tungku and those most commonly used are:
» Turmeric/Kunyit leaves
» Noni/Indian mulberry/Mengkudu leaves
» Melastoma /Senduduk leaves
» Ginger/Halia leaves
» Galangal/Lengkuas leaves
Apart from providing medicinal properties, these leaves produce scent when it comes in contact with the heated stone/iron tungku. The scent will provide aromatherapy treatment for general healing of the body and mind.
